continues to live up to its mission of providing a
quality education for thousands of students, serving as
an academic and economic engine and meeting the
healthcare needs of individuals and families in central
and southern Illinois.”
Dunn, who currently serves as the President of
Youngstown State University, Ohio, was selected
following a five-month national search assisted by

sent to students, faculty and staff as well as two
campus-wide community forums held on the Carbondale and
Edwardsville campuses which permitted interested
individuals to give direct input to the Board and the
Search Committee on the qualities they wanted to see in
the next President of the SIU system.
“As I have said in the past and emphasize now, the
Board wants the members of the PSAC to know that their
commitment of time and talent to this process was
greatly appreciated and was vital to the success of our
search,” said Chairman Thomas.
Dr. Dunn will replace Dr. Glenn Poshard who has
served as President of SIU since 2006. Poshard, a
